Welcome to ESGLI 2014!

We are very pleased to welcome you to the 2nd Meeting of the European Study Group for Legionella Infections (ESGLI) to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from September 17-19, 2014.

The aims of ESGLI, the Study Group of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) involve clinical, microbiological and epidemiological aspects as well as the rapid diagnosis, typing, control and prevention of Legionnaires’ disease.

This meeting will cover 5 areas, European Surveillance of Legionnaires’ disease, Microbiology and Pathogenesis of Legionella Infection, Clinical Aspects, Diagnosis and Treatment of Legionnaires’ Disease, Prevention and Risk Assessment in Hospitals and a new area on Water Treatment, all of which will be presented by well known experts in these fields.

We warmly welcome you and hope you enjoy an interesting Legionella scientific programme and have the opportunity to taste the Catalan Culture.
